PRESS RELEASE
17/04/2008
The Cambrils Tourism Board will continue to promote the city's tourism offer in Italy this week. Whilst on the 2nd and 3rd, Milan and Naples were the chosen sites for the Catalonia Tourism Board's workshops, this week, specifically, on the 15th, the event will be held in Rome.
According to Maite Gascón, the Cambrils Tourism Board's representative in Italy, the first two activities received very high marks. Indeed, they are considered the best way to offer an individualised introduction to the city's tourism offer to wholesalers and tour operators that request an interview in advance and, thus, have already expressed an interest in Cambrils. The format makes it possible to answer questions ranging from where the town is located to the specifics of different establishments, whether a hotel, restaurant or campground.
The singular and exclusive event is expected to attract some 250 tour operators specialised in active, cultural, business, family, sun and surf, sport, golf, wellness and culinary tourism products in Italy, as well as 50 companies and destinations from around Catalonia.
The goal of the international encounter is to get to know, and introduce ourselves to, the best Italian operators on the market today through a series of individual, personalised interviews.
The Cambrils Tourism Board met with some 30 professionals at the earlier workshops and now expects to meet with some 30 more. At each workshop, visitors are given a pen drive with all the necessary information about the municipality, including: the guides published by the Tourism Board, a CD with photos of the town and a press kit in Italian.
On the whole, the action will allow us to offer individualised presentations of our tourism offer to over 50 Italian operators. The Italian market is increasingly close to our own and marked by similar travel habits, although in recent years people have begun to spread their holidays throughout the year.
